5 Days Old

palo is now five days old and we still couldn't be happier. She is amazing to look at and we fall more in love with her everyday. She has been eating and sleeping good but doesn't like to be cold! We always try to make Palo smile, and while she was sleeping she kept grinning so I caught this picture from my phone. It's not the best angle but we sure loved it!

Ok everyone (especially our family not here) I hope this was enough pictures and stories! As you can see it's not going to be hard to post about the little princess! Can't wait to see you all!!

5 Generations

One of the neatest things about Palo being born was being able to see the biggest smile on my great-grandpa Landon Frei's face! She is his first great-great-grandchild, making 5 generations. Not only is my grandpa still alive to see her, but my grandma also. It's not every day that you find two 5th generation grandparents. My grandpa just turned 93 two days before Palo was born. They were so excited when we took her down to see them. They said they have been bragging about her ever since they saw her! It is so fun to see them hold her and love her as much as we do!

Palo

It started Tuesday after my appointment.. I was in a lot of pain from the appointment, and it just never stopped. My contractions were coming consistently every four minutes, so that's when I decided to call Tiffany to see if she wanted to go walking with me. So Tiff and I went walking for about 45 min and while walking, we timed the contractions, and the walking made them come every three minutes. After we got done walking, I went to homemaking with my mom, and during that, I continued to keep track of the contractions, and they were coming every four minutes. The pain from the contractions kept getting worse as the night went on, and it wasnt until I couldn't stand it anymore that we finally decided to go in and have them check me.
(11:30pm)When I got there, I was dialated to a four, and still 70% effaced, but the nurse said I had a very soft cervix. They monitored me for an hour, and when the nurse came back, I was still dialated to a four, but she said some other things had changed, so she went and called the Dr. to see what he thought. (12:30 am)When she came back into the room a few minutes later and said "Are you ready to have a baby?!" So... I was a little shocked, but very excited. So from there she took me in and got me all hooked up, gave me my epidural, and broke my water. Everything just went really fast from there. The whole time I could not stop saying how happy and grateful I was for the epidural! It made everything so much nicer and more comfortable! It was about 3:00am when I was dialated to a 7, then by about 4:00am I was at a 9. They had me start pushing at about 4:20, then when the Dr. got there, I pushed 3 to 4 more times until she finally came out! I ended up having an episiotomy (level 2) because I was too small. After she came out (4:54), they let me hold her, and I just couldn't believe that I had just given birth! I remember looking at her hands and feet and telling Misi how HUGE they were! She didn't cry much. She had a little bit if fluid on her lungs, but overall was very healthy. She weighed 7lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. We just think that she is everything we could have asked for and more! She is the best baby and we couldn't be more blessed to have her! I know I might be a little biased, but she is the cutest baby in the world! She is changing more and more every day, and she definitely looks like her daddy!
As for myself, I have been in a lot of pain and haven't been able to get up and walk around. I did something to my tailbone during delivery as well, so it is really sore. Misi has been such an unbelievable help! He does everything for me whether I ask or not. He hasn't complained once and has been such a trooper! He loves his girls! :) My mom and sister have also been helping me out a ton too, since I cant get up and walk around and move as much. Overall, it has been a tough, but very rewarding experience. We couldn't be more blessed to have such a beautiful little baby!
(Look at how BIG her feet are!)

SHE'S HERE!!!

Hey everyone! This is Mykelle. I am just trying to figure this thing out and get it updated for Whit and Misi. Their sweet little girl arrived this morning at 4:54 and is so cute! She was 7lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2 in long! Whit said everything was good, but she is very tired because she only got about 30 min of rest! My mom said Whit did great and it was a good experience. We are so excited for them! The only pictures I have right now are from my phone that I sent to my email, so they aren't very good, but we will get some better ones posted later. It's kind of hard to see, but Whit said she has the cutest black hair! We are all so excited to have little Palo here finally!!!

Baby Update

I had another Doctor's appointment today. I am dialted to a 3 and 70% effaced. The Doctor said it will for sure be this week! He was very positive and sounded quite certain. So now I am doing quite a bit of walking, trying to get things going! It was quite a painful Doctor's appointment, however, and what ever he did has caused the pain to increase dramatically. So, we will see how long I last!

Doctor's Appointment

I had my Doctor's appointment today and I'm dialated to a 2. The Doctor said that I definitely won't make it full term and it could be about a week longer. So, we are getting pretty excited. Misi seemed a little shocked when he said about a week...it kind of put it into perspective that she's gonna be here sooner than later. We are pretty excited. We feel so blessed to have this amazing opportunity to raise a child. I will keep everyone posted!

Baby Shower

I just wanted to thank my mom and sister & Tiffany for throwing me a baby shower, and thank everyone who came and supported me either in person or spirit ;) I feel so blessed to have such great family and friends who support me and do so much for me! We got a lot of great new things and I was able to cross a lot off of my list of needed items. We are getting very anxious and excited as the time gets closer and closer. I am currently 36 weeks along and have another Doctors appointment on Monday-which they will tell me how things are going. We also will be moving into an apartment next week which is pretty exciting. We are definitely putting all our Faith in the Lord and know everything is going to work out. We are still looking for many furniture items: washer/dryer, couch, bed, etc. since we didn't have any when we moved from Texas! haha kinda funny....but if anyone has or knows of anything we would love to know!!
